Featuring Naturally-Raised Beef, Pork, Chicken & Turkey (seasonal)

Twist of Fate Farm was born from a vision.  Our original goal was to raise and produce naturally-raised meats for our own table.  The primary objective was to raise our livestock with a big heart and a kind hand; to allow nature to decide how they grew without the use of hormones and offering them only feed free of animal by-products and medications.  The results were delicious, juicy and tender meats, raised on our own land.  So many others were interested in what we were doing for ourselves, that we decided to expand our herds and to offer these naturally-raised, USDA meats to you and your family.

How we got into farming...

Ray and I met in the early spring of 1998.  I was a city slicker, born and raised in Manchester and Ray was big ole Red Neck, living in Dunbarton with his 4 faithful companions and not a scrap of food in his bachelor pad fridge.  I moved in with Ray later that year and so our story began.

In the spring of 1999 Ray convinced me we should purchase some ducklings to clean up our pond.  Being a country girl at heart, I was very excited about his proposal and jumped at the chance to own something other than a cat.  It was a great success.

The next year I was convinced by Ray that we should get some laying hens and a few chickens and turkeys to raise for our freezer.  Well, the 4 turkeys we ordered from the hatchery turned into 14.  Our choices were to sell the extra turkeys to our friends and family or eat turkey for the next two years.  We chose to sell some.  People jumped at the opportunity to adorn their family tables with all natural turkey for their Thanksgiving holiday.

That winter, while watching TV, we were watching a program on factory farming and the way the animals were treated.  I am not sure if seeing the treatment of the animals was more unsettling than knowing I had been living with blinders on for my whole life.  Seeing that we both love meat, we decided to try our hand at raising some pigs and cows of our own.  So in the spring of 2000, we bought 3 piglets and 2 beef calves.  Everyone who came into the yard to see the animals thought it was a great idea and started inquiring about purchasing sides of pork and beef from us.

The next spring we doubled our piglets and cattle.  The inquiries continued to pour in.  It was at that time that the vision of Twist of Fate Farm began to take true form.  We began purchasing breeding stock and expanded to offer our customers our naturally raised meats by the side and by the cut.

In the spring of 2009, we decided to end our partnership, but my love for farming and encouragement from my valued customers, helped to me make the decision to continue farming on my own.  I made the decision to no longer raise rabbits or lamb and to purchase my beef from another local farmer in order to continue offering my customers a product that is local, humainly and naturally raised.  I continue to raise my own pork and poultry and run a laying flock of 140 hens, in addition to maintaining a full time job off the farm.

I am confident that once you try my products, you will, without doubt, come to enjoy and love the quality meats and other local goods I offer, just as my other customers do.

After a few years of selling our wholesome meats from our house, we decided it was time to move the meat sales operation out of our living space.  Ray, being the talented carpenter he is, began to repair the portion of the barn that had caved in some years earlier.  Our beautiful, on site, year round farm market opened in early February of 2006.  We are continuously adding new local products to make your trip more worthwhile and memorable.  See our Farm Market page for hours and Contact Us page for directions.

EGGS ARE AVAILABLE 7-DAYS A WEEK, ANYTIME.
